Punk music was all about stripping it down

Punk music was founded on the idea that music needed to be stripped down and simple again. Early 70s rock musicians were attempting to top the amazing feats of the guys from the 60s and they ended up drifting into endless, self-indulgent solos and overproduced songs that were often entertaining but also bloated beyond belief. That’s why The Ramones and their compatriots in the creation of punk rock decided to get simple.
Punk music was also meant to reinvigorate rock and take it back to a place of hard music, driving beats, and the rock and roll lifestyle. The classic punk bands you know and love today were almost immediately accepted with open arms. They weren’t the only ones that though rock music was getting too fancy and boring and they let the world know through their songs, which were amazing.
